Halal meat delivery for businesses: how wholesale delivery works

How a wholesale halal meat delivery runs from enquiry to handover, what applies to deliveries within Spain and to other EU countries, and what your team should check when the goods arrive. We supply businesses only, not private customers.

In brief

We deliver halal meat to businesses only: importers, wholesalers, butchers, restaurants, hotels and caterers, not to private households.

Destination, delivery terms, transport and documents are agreed in the written offer for each order; there are no fixed delivery zones or price lists.

Deliveries to other EU countries are intra-community supplies: they need the buyer's valid VAT number and proof of transport such as a CMR consignment note.

Check temperature, packaging, labels, halal proof and delivery note at handover and document any problem before you sign.

How does halal meat delivery for businesses work?

You send an enquiry, receive a written offer that states product, quantity, price, delivery terms and destination, and confirm it in writing. The goods then travel chilled or frozen to the agreed address and are checked at handover.

A wholesale delivery is planned per order rather than booked from a timetable. The usual sequence:

  1. Enquiry: product and cut, chilled or frozen, quantity, packaging, halal standard you require, delivery address and preferred delivery window.
  2. Offer: we reply in writing with product specification, origin, slaughterhouse, price, quantity, lead time and delivery terms. Who arranges and pays for transport is stated there, not assumed.
  3. Order confirmation: the order is binding once you confirm the offer in writing.
  4. Transport: the goods travel in temperature-controlled vehicles with the documents agreed in the offer.
  5. Handover: your team checks the goods, signs the delivery note and reports any deviation immediately.

The more precise the enquiry, the fewer questions are left for the offer. Unloading conditions matter too: tell us if the address has a loading ramp, access restrictions or fixed receiving hours, because this affects which vehicle and delivery window are possible.

Is wholesale halal meat delivery only for businesses?

Yes. We supply companies only, such as importers, wholesalers, butchers, restaurants, hotels and caterers. We do not sell or deliver to private households.

Wholesale meat trade works with quantities, packaging and paperwork that are designed for professional buyers: cartons, pallets, batch numbers, delivery notes and invoices with VAT details. That is why every order is handled as a business transaction with a written offer.

What we usually need from a new customer:

  • Company name, registered address and tax number; for deliveries to another EU country, the VAT identification number.
  • Delivery address or addresses, if different from the registered address.
  • A contact person for orders and one for goods receipt, if these are different people.
  • The halal standard or certification body your own customers expect.

If you are a private person looking for halal meat for your household, a local halal butcher or retailer is the right place to buy. Our offers, quantities and delivery terms are not set up for single households, and we do not run a home delivery service.

Halal meat Spain delivery: do you deliver wholesale halal meat to Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia?

Deliveries within Spain are possible, for example to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Málaga. The exact destination, delivery date and transport terms are agreed in the offer for each order.

Cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville or Málaga are typical destinations for business customers in Spain, but they are examples, not a fixed delivery zone. Whether a destination can be served, on which day and under which terms depends on product, quantity and the transport available for that order, so we confirm it in writing rather than promising it on a website.

For deliveries within Spain, the following points belong in the offer:

  • Delivery address and receiving hours.
  • Chilled or frozen goods and the required temperature.
  • Delivery term: who arranges the transport, and who bears the cost and risk until handover.
  • Documents travelling with the goods, at least the delivery note and the halal proof agreed for the product.

How does halal meat delivery to Germany, France and other EU countries work?

Within the EU there are no customs formalities, but a delivery to a business in another member state is an intra-community supply. It requires the buyer's valid VAT identification number and proof that the goods left Spain, usually including a CMR consignment note.

For a delivery from Spain to a company in Germany, France, the Netherlands or another EU country, three things matter:

  • VAT: under Article 138 of the VAT Directive 2006/112/EC, the supply is exempt in Spain if the buyer has a valid VAT identification number from another member state and the goods are transported there. The buyer then accounts for VAT in its own country. Check numbers in the European Commission's VIES system before the first order.
  • Proof of transport: Implementing Regulation 282/2011 (Article 45a) lists accepted evidence, such as a signed CMR consignment note, transport invoice or other transport documents.
  • CMR consignment note: the standard transport document for international road haulage under the CMR Convention. It names sender, carrier, consignee, goods and place of delivery, and the consignee signs it at handover.

Food law is harmonised in the EU, so meat from an approved establishment can be traded between member states. Which further documents your market or customer expects is clarified in the offer.

How is frozen and chilled halal meat delivered, and which temperatures apply?

Chilled meat must be kept at no more than 7 °C, poultry meat at no more than 4 °C and offal at no more than 3 °C under Regulation 853/2004. Frozen halal meat is usually transported at -18 °C or colder.

The temperature limits for chilled meat are set in Annex III of Regulation (EC) No 853/2004. They apply during storage and transport, not only at the slaughterhouse:

  • Fresh meat of beef, veal, lamb and goat: core temperature of no more than 7 °C.
  • Poultry meat: no more than 4 °C.
  • Offal: no more than 3 °C.
  • Frozen meat: usually -18 °C or colder; for quick-frozen foods, Directive 89/108/EEC sets -18 °C with brief tolerances during transport.

For frozen halal meat delivery, distance matters less than for chilled goods, which is why frozen products are often the practical choice for longer routes and larger stocks. Chilled meat has a shorter shelf life, so delivery date and onward use should be planned together. Which form suits your business is discussed in our guide on the cold chain for halal meat.

Halal meat delivery for restaurants: what should be checked at goods-in?

Check the temperature, packaging, labels with the identification mark, the halal proof and the delivery note before you sign. Anything that does not match is noted on the delivery note and documented with photos and readings.

A short, fixed routine at the back door protects the kitchen and keeps complaints manageable:

  1. Temperature: read the vehicle display, then measure the goods with a calibrated probe thermometer, ideally between packs.
  2. Packaging: no torn vacuum packs, no leaking cartons, no thawed and refrozen frozen goods.
  3. Label: product, batch, use-by or best-before date and the oval identification mark of the approved establishment required by Annex II of Regulation 853/2004. For beef, origin labelling follows Regulation 1760/2000.
  4. Halal proof: the certification mark on the label or the certificate agreed for the batch.
  5. Delivery note: product, quantity and batch must match the order and the labels.

Record readings with time and name, and move the goods into cold storage straight away. Batch numbers on the delivery note also help with the traceability every food business must ensure under Article 18 of Regulation 178/2002.

Can one supplier deliver halal meat to several branches?

Yes, if it is agreed in the offer. Restaurant groups, butcher chains or caterers can name several delivery addresses, and the offer then states how quantities, delivery notes and invoices are split per branch.

Supplying several sites is mainly a question of organisation. Points that should be clear before the first delivery:

  • Delivery addresses: each branch with receiving hours, access and a contact person for goods-in.
  • Split of quantities: one central order split per branch, or separate orders per site.
  • Documents: one delivery note per address so each branch can check its own goods.
  • Invoicing: one central invoice for the group or separate invoices per branch.
  • Same standard everywhere: identical product specification and halal standard, so guests get the same product in every location.

An alternative is one delivery to a central warehouse or kitchen from which you supply your branches yourself. That is often simpler for frozen goods. Which model fits depends on your volumes and storage, and we can work it out with you in the offer.

Halal meat online delivery: can you order online or do you send an enquiry?

There is no online shop with a shopping cart. You order online by sending an enquiry through the form on this website or by email, receive a written offer and confirm it in writing.

Meat prices change with the market, and every order differs in product, quantity, packaging and destination. A shop with fixed prices and delivery fees would not reflect that, so we work with individual offers.

What the online route looks like in practice:

  • You fill in the enquiry form with product, quantity, chilled or frozen, delivery address and requested date.
  • We reply with a written offer covering price, delivery terms, documents and lead time.
  • You confirm the offer in writing, and the delivery is planned.
  • Repeat orders can refer to the agreed specification, which saves time.

The advantage for business customers: price, delivery terms and halal standard are fixed in writing before anything is shipped. For a step-by-step view of the ordering process, see our guide on ordering halal meat online.
